Abstract

This lecture covers a wide range of topics from the basic concepts of nonlinear optics to topical waveform synthesizer systems. The different types of pumping technology are introduced and compared. The spatio-temporal pulsing dynamics during parametric amplification is analyzed. Design criteria are given and selected applications are discussed.
