Short CV of the lecturer

Prof. Nolte is the head of the Ultrafast Optics group at the Institute of Applied Physics and Deputy Director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Optics and Precision Engineering IOF, Jena. He is a member of the executive board of the Abbe School of Photonics, a fellow of the Max Planck School of Photonics, and a member of the Center of Medical Optics and Photonics (CeMOP). The research topic of Prof. Nolte is ultrashort laser pulses with the main focus on ultrashort pulse micromachining and material modification for industrial and medical applications, areas where he has been actively engaged in since the field's inception in the mid-1990s.
