Defense of first funded doctoral student

On March 26 our first funded doctoral student of the GRK, Rudrakant Sollapur, successful defended his doctoral thesis entitled “Nonlinear Laser Matter Interaction in Gas-filled Antiresonant Hollow-Core Fibers”. Many of his fellow GRK students supported him during this important event from the audience and congratulated him after he received the positive decision from the doctoral conferral committee. Confrats, Rudru!

Rudrakant joined the GRK in September 2015 as member of the first cohort. As a pioneer he went as first doctoral student to Canada during the extreme winter season for his research exchange with Francois Légaré. Within his project he was part of several fruitful collaborations within the GRK and we are happy that he will stay associated to the GRK as postdoc for some time.
