A note on ASP's reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic (updated 28 July 2020)

Dear ASP students,

we have together succeded in our first online semester in summer 2020. From our school's point of view, it was taken care of that all students were able to proceed with their study program and earn all necessary ECs by finally writing the exams and also performing the internships. At least 28 modules had been offered online during the past semester. We thank you all for your efforts and perseverance to cope with this difficult and completely new situation.

Now, it is time to look into the future: On November 2, 2020, the new M.Sc. Photonics semester will start on-campus for those who are in Jena, and online for everybody else. However, on-campus teaching is our preferred solution on the long run, and also the exams cannot be delivered online, but only on-campus. Thus, M.Sc. Photonics credits can only be earned if you arrive on campus, sooner or later.

  • Concerning students in the 1st semster of the M.Sc. Photonics (freshmen): It is strongly suggested that you aim for December 15, 2020 as is the latest date of arriving in Jena. This will enable for a full success of your M.Sc. Photonics studies in the winter term 2020. You must be here, finally, to deliver the written exams on-campus.
  • Concerning students in the 3rd semester of the M.Sc. Photonics: It is strongly suggested that you are in Jena from the first day of the lecture start, i.e. November 2, 2020. Likewise, the written or oral exams can finally be delivered by you only via physical presence in Jena.

We will continue to update this section during the next days - please stay tuned.
