Alessandro Alberucci "Outstanding Referee"
Our Postdoc Alessandro Alberucci was recognized as an Outstanding Referee by the American Physical Society (APS) for his activity as peer reviewer for APS journals. Since 2008, he reviewed 75 times for five different APS journals, namely Physical Review Letters, Physical Review A, Physical Review E, Physical Review B, and Physical Review Applied. In the year 2018 alone, Dr. Alberucci made 11 reviews involving APS journals, roughly corresponding to one review each month.
Even if this doesn't sound like much at first, peer reviewing is a side but fundamental activity for any researcher. In fact, peer reviewing is (most of the times) anonymous, complimentary and performed on a voluntary basis. In addition to the peer-reviewer duties, in the last year and half alone Dr. Alberucci authored and co-authored 4 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
